Range of Chinese Medical Services

Chinese herbal medicine is an important part of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Chinese Medicine considers food when making a diagnosis and applying treatment. As a consequence the patient is asked about dietary habits and is advised on how to make affective changes to those habits to assist in achieving better health.

Chinese herbs are then used to treat disorders such as:

  • Digestive problems
  • Eczema and psoriasis
  • Fatigue
  • Gynaecological disorders
  • Hepatic (liver) disorders
  • Cardiovascular disorders
  • Stress
  • Allergies and auto-immune disorders

Chinese herbal medicines are mainly plant based but some preparations include minerals or animal products. Different herbs have different properties and can facilitate (re-)balance to particular parts of the body.

Chinese Tui Na Massage involves techniques such as gliding, kneading, pulling and shaking. Tui Na massage is fundamentally therapeutic rather than being primarily for relaxation. It is focused on the treatment of chronic pain associated with muscles, joints and the skeletal system. Tui Na massage influences the flow of energy by holding and pressing acupuncture points

Acupuncture has been central to Chinese Medicine for the last 3,000 years. It is the practice of inserting very fine needles into the skin to stimulate specific points in the body (called acupoints) for therapeutic purposes. Acupuncture also uses heat , pressure, friction, suction or impulses of electromagnetic energy to stimulate the flow and balance of Qi (energy) in and through the body.

Foot Reflexology is an ancient form of “pressure treatment”. It involves applying focused pressure to known “reflex” points located in the foot which, in turn, correspond to certain areas of the body. Foot reflexology assists in circulation, relaxation and the release of tension.
